Zande vs Crèche Cloud: an honest comparison
Both are South African. Crèche Cloud operates out of Randburg and covers students, classrooms, enrolment, billing, communication, payroll and accounting in one app. The difference you can establish before speaking to anyone is how each company handles the price question.

Respect where it's due
Crèche Cloud is a broad, locally built platform. Their materials describe managing students, classrooms, learning, enrolment, billing and communication, with payroll and accounting in the same app. That breadth is real, and for a centre that wants payroll and accounting alongside the classroom, a single app covering all of it is a legitimate reason to choose them.
The difference you can check first
Zande publishes what it charges. Crèche Cloud's pricing page states: "We'll need you to provide some information in order for us to give you pricing."

Why that matters more than it sounds
If you run an independent centre, you are usually comparing software in the evening after the children have gone. Published pricing lets you rule a product in or out in a minute. Quoted pricing means a form, a call, and a wait before you know whether it is even in your range. Neither approach is wrong — they suit different buyers — but for an owner-operator doing this alone, it is a real difference in effort.
Where each one puts its attention
Crèche Cloud's public description spans classroom, enrolment, billing, communication, payroll and accounting. We did not find detail on parent fee arrears, fee statements or EFT reconciliation stated publicly on their site. That is what we found, not proof it is missing — ask them if it matters to you.
Zande is narrower on purpose. It is built around what a centre is owed: who still owes and how much, statements parents can read, WhatsApp fee reminders, matching EFT payments to the right learner, and a digital attendance register the R24 DBE subsidy claim depends on. It does not do payroll or accounting.
The honest decision rule
- Look hard at Crèche Cloud if: you want classroom, payroll and accounting in one app and you are comfortable requesting a quote to find out the cost.
- Look hard at Zande if: your problem is unpaid fees and the subsidy register, and you would rather see the price, set up free tonight and decide for yourself.
